Zomato Shares Funny Tweet About Elon Musk’s Blue Tick Policy, Amul Too Joins In

Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk took over the company as ‘Chief Twit’ after a $44 billion deal. And then, much to everyone’s surprise, he announced that now the verified badge or ‘blue tick’ would be available for everyone but at a cost. According to Elon Musk’s tweet, a sum of $8 would have to be paid every month in order to receive the elusive blue tick badge on your profile. And needless to say, Twitter had mixed responses to this news! Popular food delivery application Zomato too took to the platform to make a hilarious plea to Elon Musk. Take a look:

Twitter verification badges will be selling for $8 per month, as per reports. Elon Musk’s idea or purpose is to earn more revenue for the platform. However, we Indians simply couldn’t help but bring out our bargaining skills upon hearing this! This was exactly what Zomato wrote on Twitter too. “Ok Elon, how about $8 with 60% off up to $5,” wrote Zomato in their tweet.

The funny tweet by Zomato has received over 9k likes and hundreds of comments and retweets. People could relate to the post by Zomato and they shared their responses in the replies section. “Marketing while going with the trend,” wrote one user while another said, “Bargaining is everywhere!” A few others also cheekily pointed out that Zomato too followed similar discounting policies on their app.
