Apart from iPhones and iPads, Google is planning to introduce a separate YouTube Music app for Apple TV. This will allow for more direct access, starting with a dedicated app icon. The report didn’t mention if a similar app will be introduced for Android TV to maintain consistency.
Google is also planning to introduce ways for the HomePod to play music from non-Apple Music services (like Pandora) that have developed media integration for some time. These third-party platforms can now be set as the default for voice commands as well. This comes after Apple announced Siri support for AirPlay on HomePod, with YouTube Music shown as a partner at WWDC.
Meanwhile, on the wearable front, a YouTube Music app for Garmin smartwatches is also expected to arrive. The company makes rugged devices with apps available through the Connect IQ store. This app store already offers support for other music platforms like – Spotify Deezer and Amazon Music.

The report also mentions that Google is likely to update its old YouTube Music app on Apple Watch with offline storage to match the upcoming Garmin app as well as the Wear OS app. Moreover, the Wear OS version of the app may also possess the ability to act as a remote to control and play content on Android phones.
As per the report, apps for other wearables are also planned. As the YouTube Music app becomes available on more devices, it will help boost the subscription service since most of these apps require Premium/paid access.
