Xiaomi, after much wait, announced the latest generation of its top-of-the-line smartphone series, the Xiaomi 13, consisting of two models – Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. The Xiaomi 13 in its base 8/128GB trim is CNY3,999 ($575), while the top 12/512GB edition is 4,999 ($720). The middle 8/256GB and 12/256GB units are CNY4,299 and CNY4,599, respectively.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro starts at CNY 4,999 (Rs 59,215), while Xiaomi 13 comes at a starting price of CNY 3,999 (Rs 47,369). The two smartphone are currently available for pre-orders in China, and will be going on sale from December 14.
Xiaomi has confirmed the international availability of the Xiaomi 13 series, but there is no word on when the two smartphones will be available out of China.

Xiaomi 13 Pro flaunts a 6.73-inch 120Hz LTPO panel with a resolution of 1440×3200 pixels, 1920Hz DC dimming, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision playback support. The brightness of the display peaks at 1900 nits during HDR playback, while the standard brightness remains at 1200 nits. The display comes with an ambient colour temperature sensor, allowing it to adjust the colour temperature according to the surroundings.
The smartphone comes with Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speaker setup and also supports the new head-tracking feature of Dolby.
Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen chipset paired with 256GB/512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage and 8GB/ 12GB LPDDDR5X RAM. Inside the smartphone comes a 4820mAH battery paired with Xiaomi’s in-house Surge G1 chip, enabling 120W wired charging, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
Xiaomi 13 Pro features a triple 50MP camera setup once again but packs some improvements inside a square camera module. The main sensor is the same 1-inch Sony IMX989 paired with a Leica f/1.9 lens with Hyper OIS.
The telephoto unit is a 50MP sensor with 3x zoom paired with a Leica floating lens with a close focusing distance of 10 cm. The ultrawide unit comes with a 14mm f/2.2 lens with autofocus, thus enabling macro mode.
