Women will back BJP in Tripura too: Deb
He said the results of recent elections have made clear that women were emerging as the strongest force voting for governments that focus on welfare and governance.
Women could show the right way for the entire family, Deb said.
“We have seen that in our families as well. Our mothers and sisters carry the burden of households like no one else. It took someone like Prime Minister Narendra Modi to show that committed efforts have to be made to improve their lives,” he said.
Tripura is slated to go to the polls next year. In the state’s local bodies, 50% of seats and posts are reserved for women.
Deb said his government had ensured proper investigation into sexual crimes and domestic violence cases against women.
The state had started four working women’s hostels, provided collateral-free loans of up to Rs 2 crore with the support of the credit guarantee fund trust for micro and small enterprises and earmarked 50% of funds for women entrepreneurs in the venture capital funds being set up by the state government, he added.
