When Arjun Rampal shared his kids’ reaction to him being voted most desirable man: ‘So whole India wants to marry you?’

Arjun Rampal celebrated his 50th birthday on November 26. A decade ago, the actor was voted the ‘most desirable man of India’ after a poll by a publication. In an old interview, Arjun Rampal recalled how he had to explain what desirable meant to his daughters after the poll, and also shared their ‘innocent’ reaction. Arjun has two daughters, Mahikaa Rampal and Myra Rampal, with his ex-wife and former model Mehr Jesia. The former couple officially divorced in 2019. The same year, Arjun welcomed son Arik Rampal with girlfriend-designer Gabriella Demetriades. In a 2013 interview, Arjun spoke about his daughters Mahikaa and Myra, who were 10 and Myra 7 at the time, and revealed that they had asked him what ‘desirable’ meant after he was declared the ‘most desirable man of India’ in 2012.

Arjun had told Filmfare, “I explained that their mom (Mehr Jessia) found me desirable and that’s why she married me and that one day they would find someone desirable and marry him. They laughed and then innocently asked, ‘So the whole of India wants to marry you?’”

In the same interview, Arjun shared his parents’ reaction to him being voted ‘most desirable’. He said, “I’d be lying if I say that this title doesn’t mean anything. I’m quite flattered. It feels good that people find me attractive. The best part about it is that fans have voted for me. The second good thing is that it made my parents smile from ear to ear. Because if I’m sexy and charming, it’s because of their genes. The credit goes to them. But again, it’s not something I take seriously. I never did and I never will…”

Arjun was last seen in Dhaakad alongside Kangana Ranaut. Directed by Razneesh Ghai, the movie was released in theatres on May 20, and had failed to receive a good response at the box office. Arjun will be next seen in director Ramesh Thete’s period drama The Battle of Bhima Koregaon.
