WhatsApp will soon let you schedule group calls; Know how to use it?
Imagine you are on a group call on WhatsApp and have to remind people to join in time by dropping several rounds of messages. Turns out the upcoming feature will help you steer away from dropping those messages. WhatsApp is pushing a new feature to schedule voice or video group calls on the app itself.
Part of WhatsApp Beta v2.23.17.7 for Android, the feature enables users to arrange a video or voice group call adding all the required participants and setting a time for the event. WhatsApp will send notifications to the participants 15 minutes before the scheduled call similar to how Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom operate.
WABetaInfo stumbled upon the upcoming feature which is being tested on WhatsApp Beta for Android available via Google Play Store. Note that the feature is available to a subset of users as any other beta features in the works. Once the instant messaging app receives reports on how the feature performed and the bugs, we will see a generalized rollout in the coming weeks or so although there are no dates available at the moment.
How To Set Up a WhatsApp Schedule Group Call?
The feature is being tested in beta although will be rolled out to the public in a few weeks. Here’s how you can schedule a group call on WhatsApp once it arrives.

Step #2: Tap on the ‘Call’ button in the bottom-right corner.
Step #3: You will see a prompt to Schedule Group Call on Whatsapp where you need to pick the subject, dates, time, and whether it’s a voice or a video call.
Step #4: Confirm the details once and then, hit the ‘Send’ button.
Step #5: On the recipient side, they will see the messaging and open a joint call in their inbox. They will get notified regarding the upcoming call 15 minutes before the scheduled meet.
