WhatsApp rolls out two new features for users: All the details – Times of India
What can users do in Polls?
The three new updates to Polls, as per WhatsApp are:
Create single-vote polls
There might be times when users want a definitive answer. WhatsApp is introducing the option for poll creators to allow people to vote only once. All they need to do is turn off ‘allow multiple answers’ when creating a poll.
Polls can be searched in chats
At times, it is difficult to answer a poll immediately and it can get lost in the myriad of chats around. Users can now filter messages by polls, just like they can for photos, videos or links. On the ‘Chats’ screen, press ‘Search’ and then ‘Polls’ to find a list of all results.
Updates on poll results
Users can now receive notifications when people vote on their polls and be shown how many people have voted in total. This, as per WhatsApp, will help users in being updated on responses.
Captions get new features
Users can now forward pictures that have a caption and will see the option to keep, delete or completely rewrite it to give extra information when sharing photos between chats. “You can also add a caption to photos and videos when you forward them,” noted WhatsApp in the blog post.
Users will also have a similar option for documents. “Whether it’s when sending a newspaper article or a work document, now you have the option to add a caption before sharing,” said WhatsApp.
When will the features reach users?
WhatsApp said that these updates have started rolling out to users globally and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
