WhatsApp rolls out new design for Apple iPhone users: What are the changes and when will you get it – Times of India

0

WhatsApp has started to roll out a new design for Apple iPhone users. The Facebook owned platform was testing the new user interface (UI) for contact and group information for quite some time now. The UI was already seen in the previous beta update for iPhones. If you remember, WhatsApp rolled out a similar user interface for the contact section for business information in a previous update.
What are the changes in the new user interface
With the new UI, iPhone users will be able to see a round display picture of a group or a contact when they head into the information section. Users will also be able to see the number of participants right below the group’s name on the information page. Apart from this, a new ‘search’ shortcut button can also be seen next to the video call option. The search shortcut will allow users to search for a particular message in an individual chat or a group chat.
The only difference between the business information section and contact information section is the visibility of status updates. For those who do not know, you can view status updates shared by businesses in the information section, however, you can not do the same in the contact information section.
When will you be able to see the new design
As per a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has enabled the new user interface for Contact Info, Business Info, and Group Info for a large number of people. If you don’t have the new redesign enabled, this should be available within 24 hours for all beta testers after installing the latest beta update from TestFlight, and it should be available soon for people that use stable releases from the App Store.
WhatsApp is also working on a new group voice calls interface for iOS users. References for the design change were already found in the previous beta updates for iOS and Android users.
