We’re almost nearing the end of the month but there’s still a lot going on in the tech world, especially in preparation for future launches. BGMI is now available to download for Android users, Motorola launched a new smartphone, and a new JioFiber broadband plan was also launched. WhatsApp also started rolling out a highly requested feature, the edit button. Towards the end of the week we were treated with the launch timeline and a key detail of Nothing Phone (2), one smartphone everyone’s waiting for.

Battlegrounds Mobile India back on Google Play Store

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is back on Google Play Store for Android users. The game’s version 2.5.0 has a size of around 800MB. While you can download and install the game, you won’t be able to play it until Monday, May 29th which is when the servers are expected to go online. BGMI will be playable for iOS users from May 29th as well.

Motorola Edge 40 5G launched in India

One of the popular smartphone launches in India this week was the Motorola Edge 40 5G. The smartphone is priced at Rs 29,999, and it comes in Eclipse Black, Nebula Green, and Lunar Blue colours. In terms of specs, the Motorola Edge 40 5G comes with:

  • MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset
  • 6.55-inch FHD+ pOLED 144Hz display
  • 4,400mAh battery with 68W fast charging support
  • 50MP OIS primary camera
  • 32MP front camera

JioFiber Rs 1,197 broadband plan launched

There’s a new JioFiber broadband plan that is priced at Rs 1,197 and it comes with 90 days of validity and unlimited data. So with this plan, you’re getting unlimited bandwidth of 3.3TB of high-speed internet each month, after which the speed will decrease. The JioFiber Rs 1,197 plan also offers download and upload speeds of 30 Mbps. 

WhatsApp chat edit feature rolling out

WhatsApp has started rolling out the chat edit feature which has been highly requested by users everywhere. This feature essentially lets you edit messages within 15 minutes of sending them. You can do this by holding on to a message and selecting the ‘Edit’ option from the list. WhatsApp lets you edit the message as many times as you want but within 15 minutes. This feature is rolling out so it might take some time before it reaches your device.

Nothing Phone (2) launch timeline revealed

We got to know two key details about the Nothing Phone (2). Carl Pei confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2) will launch in July. The launch date isn’t revealed yet but the timeline is confirmed, which is pretty big too. The other key detail Pei confirmed is that the Nothing Phone (2) will pack a 4,700mAh battery and it offers an 80% increase in overall performance improvement over the Snapdragon 778G chip that powers the Nothing Phone (1).
