Watch: US YouTuber Tries Hyderabadi Biryani And Talks In Fluent Telugu
India is a mishmash of different cultures, religions and food traditions. As you travel the lengths and breadths of the country, the plethora of preparations and culinary diversity becomes even clearer. Each region has its own set of specialities and famous delights as well as their own regional dialects and languages. When a person from outside the country attempts to learn things about our culture and languages, it indeed makes us feel happy and elated. Recently, American YouTuber Xiaoma travelled across different areas of New Jersey and actually spoke Telugu language fluently while ordering Hyderabadi food. His amazing attempt at speaking the language and the interest that he showed in the Telugu food culture made for an intriguing watch. Take a look at the full video here:
The video was shared by the YouTube blogger on his channel Xiaomanyc. It has already raked in over 580k views and 23k likes in a span of just a couple of days. “I spoke Telugu in Indian restaurants in America and the bosses were so shocked that they gave me tons of free food and drinks,” he wrote in the caption.
In the video, the US YouTuber explained that Telugu was quite a common language in New Jersey, and was constantly increasing in popularity. He thus visited a couple of Hyderabadi restaurants across the city and interacted with the owners in Telugu. At first, the restaurant owners were a bit taken aback by Xiaoma speaking their mother tongue. Later, however, they showered praise on him and even gave him complimentary food and drinks! YouTuber Xiaoma first tried the tasty Irani chai followed by the most famous Hyderabadi Biryani. He also sampled an onion chilli Uttapam and ended it all with the sweet and spongy ras malai.
