WATCH: Krunal Pandya takes a fine catch to dismiss brother Hardik | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Krunal Pandya took a fine catch to send rival Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper and his younger brother Hardik back in the dugout in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Hardik and Krunal made history on Sunday by becoming the first brothers to lead the two opposing sides in an IPL match. The occasion was also special since the two brothers were playing in their home state Gujarat.
The incident happened on the last ball of the 16 over of the innings when Hardik smashed Mohsin Khan’s widish full delivery outside off quite hard but it went straight to Krunal at extra-cover who made no mistake to grab it. The impact of the shot was so hard that Krunal was seen wringing his hand after completing the catch.

We have seen brothers playing against each other in the past in the cash-rich league, including India stars Irfan and Yusuf Pathan, but never before have two siblings led their teams.
“It’s a dream come true for us, leading our respective sides,” elder brother Krunal, 32, skipper of LSG, said after winning the toss.
But he added: “Once we go into the field, the game face will be on.”
GT skipper Hardik, 29, adjusted his big brother’s hat and also told the host, who called it wrong, that the coin fell in Krunal’s favour.

“Big, emotional day for the family, our father would have been proud,” said an emotional Hardik, a regular in the national side and a much bigger star than Krunal.
“This is something that’s happening for the first time. Short of words, but the family is proud. One Pandya will win.”
