NEW DELHI: In what would be the good news for the Indian cricket fans, a video of pacer Jasprit Bumrah is doing the rounds on social media in which he was seen bowling at full tilt during an intra-squad practice match on Friday at the picturesque Alur cricket ground near Bengaluru.

For nearly the last 10 months, Bumrah has been on the road to recovery at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. During this period, he has been meticulously working to regain his fitness after enduring a stress fracture of the back, an injury that forced him out of action since September.

The severity of the injury even required him to undergo surgery earlier this year.
TOI has learnt that Bumrah’s figures in the ‘match simulation,’ which involved all the bowlers bowling to Mumbai’s batsmen, read: 10-2-34-1, with opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi (bowled for an eight-ball duck) being his sole scalp.
On Saturday, another pacer, returning to action after a stress fracture of the back which required surgery, Prasidh Krishna, bowled to Mumbai’s batsmen in a practice game. Prasidh’s figures, spread across three spells, read 10-2-26-1.

A few days back, BCCI secretary Jay Shah also confirmed that Bumrah has regained full fitness and the pacer might be included in the team for the three-match T20I series in Ireland.
“Bumrah is totally fit and he may go to Ireland,” Shah told reporters.
