Ultraviolette F77 could do over 300km on a single charge

The new battery pack now stands at 10.5kWh on the top-end variant making it the largest battery pack fitted to an electric two-wheeler in India. It now holds 21,700 lithium-ion cells up from the earlier 18,650 cells prototype version. The battery, however, is non-removable. Ultraviolette has also been extensively testing the heating management system and claims to have incorporated a passive air-cooling system to keep the temperatures in check.

Ultraviolette has also reworked multiple mechanical components to facilitate the new battery pack. This includes a new chassis that is two times stiffer so as to allow the battery pack to be mounted and hung on it. Multiple other areas have also been revised. The company claims to have refined the transmission and switched over to a swing arm that has been made using casting instead of milling to keep costs in check.

The F77 will be a rider-focused machine and the e-bike will get pre-load adjustable front USD forks and a mono-shock at the rear, riding modes and multi-level regenerative braking.

Ultraviolette electric bike launch, booking date in India

Ultraviolette will start taking bookings from October 23rd for a token amount of Rs 10,000 followed by an official launch on November 24th. The company intends to sell via online channels for now. Ultraviolette will however open up experience centres for its prospective customers. Currently, the company has a production capacity of 15,000 units a year but plans to upscale it to 1,00,000 units a year are already in place.
