Musk has also made users aware of the impacts of such a move. Twitter’s CEO said that as several inactive accounts may be removed, users on the platform may see a drop in follower count.

In a protest against a Twitter label that implied government involvement in its editorial content, National Public Radio, a public broadcaster stopped posting content to its 52 official Twitter feeds. So, Musk “threatened” to reassign the broadcaster’s account to another company.

In an attempt to tackle the issue of bot accounts on the social media platform, Musk has made account verification a part of Twitter’s Blue subscription.
