Twitter introduces ‘verification for organizations’ feature – Smartprix
Elon Musk-owned Twitter has recently launched a new feature named ‘verification for organizations’ on a global level. The microblogging platform shared the news via a tweet from its official handle. According to the company, they have already started sending email invitations to all the approved organizations from the waitlist. As for the feature, the verification for organizations can be dubbed a new process by which the organization and all their affiliates can differentiate themselves on Twitter from other accounts.
All the accounts that are affiliated with a particular organization will get an affiliate badge on their profile with the logo of the business. Another major highlight is that these affiliates will also be featured on the organization’s profile. Twitter has already said that the organizations on the waitlist have gone through multiple checks before getting approved for the verification for the organizations feature. Previously, the feature was being called Blue for Business, but the name got changed due to uncited reasons.
In a connected update, it has also been announced by Twitter CEO Elon Musk said that the platform will be removing all the legacy Blue verified check marks for both organizations and individual users starting from April 1, which is just a day ahead.
To recall, the platform has been going through a lot of changes since Musk has taken over. The platform has also increased the word limit per tweet in a recent update. Currently, users can write a tweet containing up to 4000 characters. However, the feature is only available for Twitter Blue subscribers as of now.
