Tusshar Kapoor’s Maarrich shot with multiple endings, ending to be decided based on ‘audience reactions’
Makers of Tushhar Kapoor’s comeback film Maarrich are embarking on the promotional campaign of the film with a unique experiment. The thriller has been shot with multiple endings, and the film’s team will take a final call on which one to be used in the theatrical cut based on audience reactions during the promotional campaign. The trailer of Maarrich was released earlier this week. It stars Tusshar as a cop on the hunt for a dangerous killer. On Wednesday, in a statement, the makers revealed that given the story’s structure and open-endedness, they shot all possible endings. Which ending will be used in the final release depends on audience’s response to the film in the coming two weeks.
Speaking about this, director Dhruv Lathe says, “We wanted to keep the audiences glued till the end of the film. We wanted them to guess and let them feel they are right and then suddenly we would blow them with a twist. Hence, we decided to shoot multiple endings to increase the intrigue and curiosity level even more.”
The film’s lead actor Tusshar adds, “We decided to shoot multiple endings to increase the suspense level in the film, we are yet to choose the final one as our aim is to surprise the audiences and give them something they didn’t expect at all.”
The film stars Tusshar as senior cop Rajiv Dixit, who is investigating the murders of two young girls. He comes across multiple suspects, each with their own evil side. The film’s promotional campaign so far has certainly been innovative. Before this, the makers had resorted to use a viral social media campaign around a ‘Hatman’ to generate buzz around the film
The Dhruv Lather directorial also stars Seerat Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles. The film marks Seerat’s Bollywood debut. The film has been produced by Tusshar Kapoor, Narendra Hirawat, Shreyans Hirawat and co-produced by Girish Johar, Priyank V Jain. It will release theatrically on December 9.
