IRCTC may soon launch a voice-based e-ticket booking feature
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the tourism and ticketing arm of Indian Railways, is preparing to launch a novel ticket booking feature. The upcoming voice-based e-ticket booking system by IRCTC aims to simplify and expedite the online reservation process. Sources reported by ET Now reveal that IRCTC is currently conducting pilot tests of this feature on its AI (Artificial Intelligence) platform called ‘Ask Disha.’ The latest addition to the Ask Disha platform, known as “Digital Interaction to Seek Help Anytime,” allows customers to utilize voice commands for the entire online ticket booking process, currently in its trial phase.
Presently, Ask Disha provides customers with the option to book tickets and access support for various services through a log-in process that involves OTP verification. With this feature, users are not required to log in using their IRCTC UserID and password, making the experience more convenient and hassle-free.
