Swift, Baleno, Brezza Gets Expensive; Maruti Suzuki Price Hike for the fifth time in 2022 – Smartprix

Maruti Suzuki, India’s biggest automobile manufacturer, has hiked the prices of its cars in the country for the fifth time since January 2022. The automobile giant has raised prices for its entire portfolio of cars including popular Swift, Baleno, Dezire, Brezza, and more. The new buyers of Maruti Suzuki cars will have to pay up to Rs. 22,000 in more starting 18 April 2022.

Maruti has previously expressed its concern regarding the increasing prices of raw materials that ultimately increase the input costs. To cope with this challenge, the only solution that the company finds is to add an extra amount to the selling price of the cars. So, Maruti figures out to set a price hike of 1.32% across its entire offerings. Here’s the updated pricing.

Previously, Tata Motors and Mahindra have also announced a surge in their car prices from the new fiscal year. 

New prices of Maruti Arena cars 

Starting with the company’s entrant car S-Presso, it sees a surge of Rs 5,193 and has been priced at Rs 3,99,500. The popular Maruti Alto will now cost Rs 4,08,800 after an increase of Rs 5,304 from the old price. The Eeco van was previously sold at Rs 4,57,178 but now, it costs Rs 4,63,200. Celerio has been increased by Rs 6,825 to retail at Rs 5,25,000.

The current top-seller car from Maruti, WagonR retails from Rs 5,47,500 in Delhi whose old price was Rs 5,40,383. The popular Swift is priced at Rs 5,91,900 while Dzire starts from Rs 6,24,000. The compact SUV Maruti Vitara Brezza has been increased by Rs 10,192 and now, is priced at Rs 7,84,000 for its base model.

New prices of Maruti Nexa cars 

The cheapest car from Nexa branding is the Maruti Ignis will cost Rs 5,35,000 after an appraisal of Rs 6,955. Next on the list is Baleno which has been priced at Rs 6,49,000 onwards with a 1.32% hike.

The Nexa S-Cross 5-seater SUV has been set with a new price of Rs 8,95,000. The costliest car from Nexa is the sedan Maruti Ciaz which gets a raise of Rs 11,693 to retail from Rs 8,99,500 in Delhi.

Maruti has not included Ertiga in the new pricing list. Yet, there are still some Maruti cars that will witness price hikes later this year when their upgraded version will be launched. This includes the 2022 Maruti Brezza, 2022 S-Cross, 2022 Alto, and a new Maruti Swift Hybrid.
