NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Friday.
Shares of Biocon(up 1.93 per cent), Granules India(up 0.95 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.76 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 0.3 per cent) and Strides Pharma Science(up 0.25 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 3.01 per cent), Abbott India(down 2.72 per cent), Laurus(down 2.39 per cent), Lupin(down 2.36 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences(down 2.17 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.86 per cent down at 13607.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 69.75 points at 17153.0, while the BSE Sensex stood down 233.48 points at 57362.2.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 ended in the green, while 38 closed in the red.
Shares of Adani Power, L&T Fin Holding, Vodafone Idea, IDFC First Bank and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Goa Carbons, Som Distill, Tata Elxsi, Lemon Tree Hotels and Guj Mineral Dev. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Felix Industries, Akash Infra-Proj, Future Enterprises, GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd. and Ganga Forging hit their fresh 52-week lows.
