NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Alkem Laboratories(up 2.78 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(up 2.73 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 2.49 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 2.42 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 2.41 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Cipla(down 1.76 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.45 per cent), Lupin(down 1.45 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 1.36 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 0.85 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.42 per cent up at 13569.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 69.85 points at 17245.65, while the BSE Sensex stood down 304.48 points at 57684.82.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, L&T Fin Holding, SAIL, YES Bank and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd., Shivalik Bimetal, Suven Pharma, Royal Orchid and North Eastern hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Dhani Ibull Ventures, SP Refractories Ltd., Gateway Distriparks Ltd., Akash Infra-Proj and A and M Jumbo Bags L hit their fresh 52-week lows.
