NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.68 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 1.52 per cent), Laurus(up 1.45 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.62 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.58 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.67 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 1.4 per cent), Cipla(down 1.04 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 1.04 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories(down 0.91 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.2 per cent up at 13772.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 54.65 points at 17475.65, while the BSE Sensex stood down 237.44 points at 58338.93.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., Redington and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Hariom Pipe Industries Ltd., Dynacons Sys, Nahar Industrial, Thermax and Asian Hotels(E)hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Debock Sales & Mktg, SP Refractories Ltd., Innovative Tyres & T and DRC Systems India Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
