Sonia Singh says she was shocked when Tunisha Sharma asked her for ₹3000: ‘She was troubled and we spoke less’
Late actor Tunisha Sharma had asked her friend-actor Sonia Singh to lend her ₹3000. In a new interview, Sonia said that Tunisha was troubled and when they met on December 14, she spoke about her ex-boyfriend Sheezan Khan. Tunisha allegedly died by suicide on the sets of her TV serial Ali Baba Dastaan-E-Kabul on December 24. Sheezan was her co-star in the serial. They had broken up a fortnight ago, ending their months-long relationship. He was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide on December 25. So far, the police have recorded the statements of 27 people in the matter.
Speaking with AajTak, Sonia Singh said, “Tunisha would call me whenever she was free. For the past few days, she was troubled and we spoke less in December. When we met on December 14, she claimed that Sheezan had said he needed some space and did not like me talking about love all the time. I explained that such things happen in a relationship. Tunisha often would not have money. Very recently, she asked me to lend her ₹3000 and I asked her what had happened that she did not even have the amount.”
Sonia recalled Tunisha calling her a day before her death. She recalled Tunisha asking her to tell her mother, Vanita Sharma, that she was with her if she called. She also said, “Tunisha had started considering Sheezan’s family her own. She would call them Ammi and Appi, which sounded okay to me because she was considering the family of the one she loved as her own.”
The Waliv Police on Wednesday said that Sheezan’s “secret girlfriend” deleted her conversations with him. The police said that they seized the mobile phone of Sheezan’s “secret girlfriend” after recording her statement to retrieve the deleted chats. Notably, Sheezan too had deleted his chats with the girl, a part of which has already been retrieved by the police.
The Vasai court on December 31 sent accused Sheezan to 14-day judicial custody after his police custody ended. Tunisha’s mother Vanita had levelled allegations against Sheezan stating that he used to beat Tunisha and was forcing her to adopt Islamic practices. However, addressing a press conference, Sheezan’s sister Falaq Naaz, accused Tunisha’s mother of “neglecting” her and said that the deceased actor’s depression was due to her childhood trauma.
