Sobhita Dhulipala breaks silence on Naga Chaitanya dating rumours: ‘Don’t wish to clarify things, not doing any wrong’

In a recent media interaction, Sobhita Dhulipala addressed the rumours that have been doing the rounds about her relationship with actor Naga Chaitanya. The actor, who has been busy promoting her latest film Ponniyin Selvan: II, said she is focussing on her career right now. Naga Chaitanya was previously married to actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Ever since they ended the relationship in 2021, his name has been linked to Sobhita Dhulipala. A couple of months ago, a picture of Chaitanya and Shobhita at a restaurant surfaced online, further fuelling their realtionship rumours. Neither of the actors have confirmed or denied their alleged relationship. Sobhita has now reacted to the dating rumours.

“I’m very fortunate for having a chance to work in beautiful films. I’m a classical dancer and I like dancing. To have performed three AR Rahman’s songs in Mani Ratnam’s film is a very big thing for me. I am focused on it right now. For people who speak without knowledge, I don’t think I need to answer them. I don’t feel the urge to clarify things when I’m not doing any wrong and it is not my business,” Sobhita was quoted as saying in a report by Filmibeat.

Sobhita added that instead of clarifying things, ‘people write with half-knowledge’, and therefore, she prefers to be ‘calm’ and focus on her life. She said, “Instead of answering or clarifying about things people write with half-knowledge, one must focus on your life, improve it, be calm, and try to be a good person.”

Samantha Ruth Prabhu tied the knot with Naga Chaitanya in October 2017. The actors were married for almost four years before they ended their marriage. The two announced the separation in October 2021. They had issued statements on their respective social media accounts at the time. Recently, Naga Chaitanya confirmed that his and Samantha’s divorce has come through.

Speaking with Karan Johar on Koffee With Karan season 7, last year, Samantha had referred to Chaitanya as her ‘ex-husband’ and added that the split was not amicable. Speaking about the separation, Samantha had said on the show, “It has been hard.”

Sobhita is known for her role as Tara Khanna in Made In Heaven (2019). Sobhita was last seen Ponniyin Selvan: II, the second part of 2022’s Ponniyin Selvan: I. Before that she appeared with Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur in The Night Manager.
