Sidhu Moose Wala’s song Jaandi Vaar to be released by Salim Merchant, part of revenue will go to late singer’s parents

Musician Salim Merchant has announced that late singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s unreleased song will be out next month. Taking to Instagram, Salim shared a video in which he spoke about how and why he decided to collaborate with Sidhu. In the clip, Salim also revealed that a part of the revenue collected from the song will be given to Sidhu’s parents. Towards the end of the video, Salim said that the song, also sung by Afsana Khan, is titled Jaandi Vaar and will release on September 2. The clip started with Salim saying, “Hi everyone, a lot of people have been asking me about the release date of the song that I recorded with Sidhu Moose Wala. So now the time has come. We recorded the song in July 2021 in Chandigarh. I met Afsana Khan last year and she introduced me to Sidhu. After knowing about Sidhu’s passion for his art, song, his people, community, his thoughts, it made me very happy and within no time we decided to work together.”

He continued, “This song was recorded at my friend Sachin Ahuja’s studio in Chandigarh. We recorded a beautiful, heart-touching and emotional song. Sidhu has sung this song from his heart and Afsana added beauty to the song. Today Sidhu is not among us but his voice and thoughts are in this song and that is why we are releasing this song as a tribute to Sidhu’s fans, people who have loved him and everyone around the world who liked his songs.”

Salim added, “To honour Sidhu, we have decided that whatever revenue is collected through this song, we will give one part of it to his parents. This song’s title is Jaandi Vaar and it will release on September 2. You can buy a portion of this song’s audio rights through Kalakaar.io on August 31. Sidhu was shot dead by assailants in Jawaharke village of Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29 this year. The incident took place a day after his security was withdrawn by the Punjab police among 424 others. The singer had joined the Congress party last year in December ahead of the assembly elections. He contested and lost the elections
