She has shared a post on Instagram stating how the use of sugar and jaggery must be dependent on the changing seasons and other food combinations.
Here’s What Rujuta Diwekar Revealed About Using Jaggery Instead Of Sugar:
1) Jaggery is not a replacement for sugar. Many people may feel like putting jaggery into homemade sweets instead of sugar will make the delicacies healthy. However, that’s not quite true as suggested by the expert.
2) Rujuta Diwekar explained that the usage of jaggery and sugar in households should be based on the different seasons and basically, which other ingredients are you planning on combining with the two respectively.
3) Mostly, you should use jaggery in the winter season and sugar in the summer.
4) The ceebrity nutritionist also mentioned that sweet treats that are prepared during the winter season including gur poli, til chikki, gond laddoo, bajra roti, usually carry jaggery.
5) Sugar can be used in the summer season while making sharbat, tea or coffee, shrikhand, karanji, gujiya, among others.
