A fan asked Shah Rukh Khan to sign an autograph on a painting he made of the actor’s late parents. A photo of their recent interaction was shared on a fan page. Many on social media are reacting to the photo, and calling it a ‘proud’ moment for the actor, who has often spoken about the close bond he shared with his parents, and how he misses them after losing them early in life. Shah Rukh’s father Taj Mohammed Khan died of cancer, when the actor was only 15 years old; Shah Rukh’s mother Lateef Fatima Khan also died after a prolonged illness in 1990, when the actor was 25. In the photo, Shah Rukh, who was dressed in white shirt and black trousers, was seen with a fan, who held a black and white painting of the actor’s parents. Shah Rukh was seen reaching for a pen to sign the painting for the fan in the photo. His security and a few other people were also photographed in the undated picture that was taken outdoor during night-time.

A fan page shared the picture with the caption, “It must have been an emotionally satisfying and proud moment for the King of Hearts, when a fan asked for his autograph on this heart-melting painting.” Many took to the comments section of the Instagram post to shower love on the actor. One wrote, “Oh wow. Speechless… for a son it was a proud and emotional moment. Beautiful.” Another one commented, “Now you are melting my heart.” A fan also wrote, “World ka best gift hai SRK ke liye (this is the best gift for Shah Rukh).” Another comment read, “It brought tears to my eyes. Cannot even imagine his reaction!!”

Shah Rukh has often talked about his parents in various talk shows and interviews. In a 2011 interview with Hindustan Times, Shah Rukh had spoken about his parents, and said, “I think both parents are really important for children and it’s a great gift of God if children have both their parents. I lost my parents very early, so I attach a huge amount of importance to having them with you. I fight with my wife saying that a father is more important but I guess that’s a bias being a father. A father needs to be a guardian, a parent, someone who one can look up to. But most importantly, to be a friend.” He added, “More than my father’s strictness, goodness, his education or all the ideals that he gave me, what I miss most is having a friend.”

Shah Rukh will be seen next in Pathaan, which is directed by Siddharth Anand. The film also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. It is a spy thriller shot in multiple foreign locations, and will be released on January 25, 2023. Pathaan marks Shah Rukh’s first film since Zero in 2018, which also featured Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif.
