Samsung may soon launch new Exynos chip for entry-level phones – Times of India

Samsung is reportedly working on a new Exynos chipset for entry-level smartphones. The South Korean company may soon launch Exynos 1280. As shared by tipster Ice universe, the chipset will be based on a 5nm processor. The upcoming chipset’s specifications, however, will be lower than the existing Exynos 1080.
There are no details about the chipset’s fabrication process, CPU cores, or GPU. As per a SamMobile report, the new chipset may come with 5G connectivity support though.
Most Samsung devices that are scheduled to launch next year are expected to run on Exynos processors. The company is reportedly working on at least two high-end Exynos processors, a mid-range chipset and one chipset for entry-level smartphones.
Samsung’s Exynos 2200 is expected to debut with the Galaxy S22 series. It is rumoured to be built on Samsung Foundry’s 4nm processor and may feature one Cortex-X2 CPU core, three Cortex-A710 CPU cores, four Cortex-A510 CPU cores, and the AMD Mobile Radeon GPU based in the RDNA2 architecture.
Samsung Galaxy S22 series expected specs
The series is rumoured to consist of three phones- Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ are speculated to come with a 50MP GN5 camera lens along with a 12MP ultra-wide and a telephoto lens. The Galaxy 22 Ultra is expected to get an improved 108MP camera sensor.
As per rumours, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be the only model in the lineup to boast of LTPO technology that helps to scale the refresh rate on display in real-time to save battery.
