Samsung Galaxy S24 series tipped to launch on January 17th with generative AI features
Samsung Galaxy S24 launch date leaked
SBS Biz reported that the South Korean conglomerate is looking at January 17th as the date to unveil its next major flagship series, the Samsung Galaxy S24. These devices will be unveiled in an in-person event in San Francisco, US. It is expected to be the brand’s first “generative AI” phone too.
The new date lines up with earlier rumours, with Ice Universe claiming that the device will be unveiled on January 18th a month ago. This is not the first time Samsung is launching its S series in January as it unveiled the Galaxy S21 series on January 14th, 2021. The company also had its first in-person event in 3 years in San Francisco for the Samsung Galaxy S23 series in February 2023 and then an event in Seoul for the second Unpacked of this year.
Rumours are indicating that the new phones could focus on AI features, camera and design refinements but will largely look the same as their predecessors. A January event also means that the brand wants to go against the iPhone 15 series which will have its Pro models in decent supply by January.
It remains to be seen if the early launch will give the phone a boost in the competitive smartphone market as even Chinese brands have fast-tracked their flagship launches with the latest example being the new Xiaomi 14 series. Samsung Galaxy S24 series is also expected to bring back Samsung’s own Exynos chipsets for select regions.
