Samsung Galaxy S23 series launch: New leaks surface hinting camera and battery specs – Times of India

Samsung Galaxy S23 will be Samsung’s first big flagship series phones of 2023, no surprises here. The Galaxy S23 series phones are likely to include three devices – the Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Latest leaks claim to reveal the information about the Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra’s battery capacity and cameras. There have also been some reports that suggest Samsung may have to tinker with pricing in view of the current global economic uncertainty.
Samsung Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra battery capacity
As per a report by galaxyclub, the Samsung Galaxy S23+ could pack a 4,700mAh battery, which is about 100mAh bigger than the one in the Galaxy S22+. The top-of-the-line Galaxy S23 Ultra, however, is said to pack a 5,000mAh battery, which is identical to what is found in the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung has apparently asked Amperex and Samsung SDI to manufacture battery packs for these smartphones.

The report claims that the Galaxy S23 may get an improved 12MP front camera sensor but the telephoto camera is reported to carry the same 10MP sensor and 3x optical zoom capability. It is also claimed that the sensor in the ultra-wide angle camera won’t change much. The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ are said to feature the same 12MP ultra-wide angle camera as it was in their predecessors. The report further notes there is no clarity whether the Galaxy S23 Ultra will get the same 12MP sensor as its siblings or not.
This is in line with a recent report which highlighted that the upcoming flagships from Samsung may sport triple rear cameras which include – a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. For selfies and video calls, the devices may include a 12MP front shooter.

It is expected that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S23 sometime between “end of January and the end of February 2023.” As far as price is concerned, the South Korean technology giant may put a higher price tag on the Galaxy S23 series as compared to the Galaxy S22 in view of currency fluctuations. It is to be noted that Samsung launched both Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 at a slightly higher price tag as compared to its predecessors in India.
