Xiaomi is set to launch its Note 12 series in India in January next year. The company has announced that Redmi Note 12 series smartphones will be unveiled in India on January 5 at an event in New Delhi. Redmi Note 12 series phones appeared on e-tailing website Amazon recently. The website has now added a ‘Notify Me’ button on the page. This means interested buyers can keep a track of the upcoming smartphone by clicking on ‘Notify Me’ button. The Amazon listing of the series goes with the title: ‘The 5G Supernote’. It also reveals some of the key specifications of the Redmi Note 12 5G phone.
Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 12 series in China last month. The company launched four phones under the Note 12 series in its home country. In India, Xiaomi is likely to launch three smartphones under the series — Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and Redmi Note 12E. Redmi Note 12 5G is the most-affordable of the series.

Redmi Note 12 5G confirmed specifications
Amazon India has created a landing page for the upcoming Redmi Note 12 series. The Amazon listing confirms largely the same specs for the smartphones as the models launched in China. As per the known specs, Redmi Note 12 5G runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset.
It has an AMOLED display with a punch hole design and 120Hz of refresh rate. The smartphone sports a triple rear camera with 48MP main sensor. The dual SIM Redmi Note 12 5G comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone has an IP53 coating that makes it dust and splash-resistant. The smartphone packs a 5000mAh battery with 33W charging support.

The smartphone is likely to come in three RAM and storage variants — 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB. The upcoming Redmi smartphone is likely to run on Android 12 operating system topped with the company’s own layer of MIUI 13.
