Rajasthan hospitals allotted to 625 specialist doctors as part of bond obligation

Jaipur: In a first, 625 specialist doctors have been allocated hospitals attached to medical colleges where they will be deployed soon after passing out from medical colleges in compliance with the bond condition that they had signed before taking admission in the specialised courses.

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s hometown Jodhpur got 134 doctors, the highest in the state. Forty-seven of them got postings at the SMS Medical College. These doctors will work for next two years as senior resident doctors which will help in strengthening healthcare services across the state.

The medical education department claimed that doctors got the postings depending on the existing strength of doctors. The 625 doctors will remain posted for two years, which is a condition of the bond they had signed.

Highest number of doctors, 63, who will be deployed in compliance of bond condition, have done specialization in general surgery, following are those 50 doctors who have done specialization in general medicine. Forty-four doctors, who have completed specialization in radiodiagnosis in 2022, are also among 625 who have been allocated the hospital where they will be posted for next two years in compliance of bond conditions.

A medical education department official said that recently the department has issued a complete guidelines on the bond which the students sign before joining the specialization or PG courses in medical colleges run by the government.
