Navi Mumbai: Amid rising COVID cases in state, the PCMC recently conducted mock drill at 32 hospitals, while adhering to instructions from the Central Government.

During the entire drive, it inspected the availability of required health facilities like the capacity of isolation beds, beds with ICU and oxygen facilities, ventilator beds, oxygen cylinders, emergency medicines, injections, PPE kits, general beds, manpower and equipment. Meanwhile, the PCMC health department has also increased COVID testing.

PCMC has made available RT-PCR tests and antigen tests at all six urban primary health centres across the city, for patients with mild Covid symptoms.

PCMC commissioner Ganesh Deshmukh has appealed to the citizens to consult a doctor and get tested for Covid if they have symptoms like cold, cough, fever, bodyache, sore throat, breathing issues, etc. PCMC medical officer of health Dr Anand Gosavi said, “We have advised citizens with mild symptoms to self-isolate, and take medication and Covid test only on doctor’s advice.”
