This latest development marks a smooth and seamless entry into the electric biking landscape, emphasizing both innovation and sustainability. Orxa Mantis Electric Bike India Price
Mantis electric bike is now available at the price of Rs 3.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru, inclusive of the charger). Originally showcased at the India Bike Week in 2019, the finalized version boasts significant enhancements over its initial prototype. Interested buyers can secure their Mantis by placing a booking on the company’s website, with an initial reservation cost of Rs 10,000 for the first 1000 customers, and Rs 25,000 thereafter. While deliveries are projected to commence in Bengaluru by April 2024, the schedule for other cities is yet to be disclosed.
Orxa Mantis Features and Specifications
Crafted on an all-aluminium chassis, the Orxa Mantis retains the distinctive design elements showcased in its prototype at the 2022 Indian Bike Week. The front profile stands out with a twin LED projector unit, adding a polarizing touch to its appearance. Sporting edgy-looking panels along the sides, the Mantis exudes a sporty aura.
The rear section, sleek and inspired by high-displacement street-naked ICE motorcycles, contributes to its overall stylish demeanor. Beyond its design, Orxa plans to enhance the Mantis with a range of accessories, including a top box, side panniers, and top rack, with pricing details yet to be disclosed. The Mantis will be available in two striking colors – Jungle Grey and Urban Black.
Regarding its features, the bike is equipped with a 5-inch digital TFT display that comes with Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, it includes a Mantis app, enabling navigation, displaying phone notifications, and providing rider analytics directly on the TFT screen.
In the realm of cycle components, the Mantis relies on a 41 mm telescopic fork for the front suspension and a rear monoshock setup, adjustable for preload. Braking responsibilities are managed by disc brakes at both ends, featuring a 320 mm unit at the front and a 230 mm unit at the rear. The Mantis has a weight of 182 kilograms and a comfortable seat height of 815 mm.
Powertrain
The Mantis boasts a liquid-cooled electric motor generating a peak power output of 20.5 kW and a peak torque of 93 Nm, facilitating top speeds of up to 135 kmph and achieving 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.9 seconds. Powering this electric bike is an 8.9 kWh fixed battery setup, delivering an estimated range of up to 221 km. The motorcycle comes with a standard 1.3 kW wall-mounted charger, requiring 5 hours for a charge from 0 to 80 per cent. For a quicker option, customers can opt for a 3.3 kW charger, capable of charging from 0 to 80 per cent in 2.5 hours, with the price of the charger yet to be announced.
