Oppo F19s Quick Look: A new colorway – Smartprix
Oppo F19s has launched in India. Well, it hasn’t been that long since I reviewed the original F19, F19 Pro, and F19 Pro+ phones. So, memories are still fresh. Yours must be too. However, if it isn’t and you had missed the standard F19 back when it first hit the stores in India, there is this special edition to check out now.
The F19s still comes with the 60Hz 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 662 processor, 48MP triple rear camera setup, a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support, Android 11 with ColorOS software, and pretty much the same spec sheet as the regular F19.
Here, have a look at the phone’s specs and in-box contents and while you take a quick refresher of the details, note what you get within the box too:

Let’s take the device out for a spin now.
Oppo F19s is just 7.95mm thin and weighs about 175 grams. And so it stands on being the slimmest phone with a 5000mAh battery claim.
The new thing however is the gorgeous Gold color. It feels good in the hand. There is a case in the package that should flatten the slight camera bump.
The left side houses the volume rockers and 2+1 card slot while the right is where you’d find the power button. They are clicky and easily reachable. By the bottom, there is a mic hole, a 3.5mm jack, a USB-C 2.0 port, and a speaker grille.
Let’s unlock the device now. Well, for that you get a snappy face and in-screen fingerprint recognition.
On the front, there is a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel. It sports an acceptable amount of colors, contrast, and brightness. It has Widevine L1 certification, and Amazon Prime did play HD videos. The refresh rate is rather basic 60Hz.
The speaker output is low. So, use the bundled earphone when you want to pay attention or enjoy the audio. You could always try and find some better sound from the Dirac 2.0 tuned equalizer modes (within Settings > Sound & Vibration).
That brings us to —
Calls were clear and audible for both parties. There is dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, dual SIM 4G VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc. What’s missing in this list is carrier aggregation.
Moving on…
Oppo F19s ships with the Snapdragon 662 chipset found within various affordable mobile machines in the market. It is fabbed on an 11nm architecture, consists of eight cores, and has a top clock speed of 2.0 GHz. The rest of the setup comprises Adreno 610 GPU, 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB UFC 2.1 internal storage. There is also support for microSD expansion.
You can expect the same performance that we had got from the OG F19. Still, I’ll be putting it through the routine tests and trials.
Above you can see the COD Mobile and BGMI max playable settings.
ColorOS 11.1 (based on Android 11) is flourished with features like Game Toolkit, Enhanced Dark Mode, highly flexible screenshot option, Google Discover integration on the homescreen, Screen Recording, Smart Sidebar, Quick Launch, Floating Window, and Conversation Bubbles. Gladly most of the bloatware and ads can be easily removed.
The software trickery could also be found in the following area.
Oppo F19s’ triple camera setup on the rear is the same as a 48MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor camera. On the front, there is a 16MP sensor for selfies and video calls. Speaking of video, recording is limited to 1080p30fps on both sides.
The camera app has goodies like AI Scene Enhancement, HDR, Filters, Night Mode, Portrait Mode, Slo-Mo, Time-Lapse, Pro Expert Mode, Extra-HD, Google Lens integration, Macro Mode, and more. You’ll have the camera samples and analysis in the final review.
Let’s see the battery specifics now.
Oppo F19s: Battery
Oppo claims the F19s to be the sleekest smartphone with a 5000mAh battery under the hood. This cell is backed by a 33W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash charge which promises 13% faster charging than other smartphones. It is expected to fully charge in 72 minutes and also offers over 5 hours and 45 minutes of calling or 2 hours of video watching with just a 5-minute charge. It also boasts a higher level of safety with night charging protection and temperature control.
And at last, it’s time for —
Oppo F19s First Impression
In one look, the specialness of this Oppo F19s edition appears to be cosmetic i.e., its new paint job. Nevertheless, that means it still has got an eye-catching and palm-pleasing design, a rapid charging solution, feature-rich ColorOS software, an FHD+ AMOLED screen, and ample memory. Then there are things like the real-world testing of Snapdragon 662 performance, the camera output, and the battery life which would take the course of a full review. So you could either wait for that or get a whiff of my F19 review before making the purchase decision.
