Nothing Phone (2) video shows off redesigned Glyph Interface, new features
Nothing Phone (2) design officially revealed
In an exclusive shared with YouTuber MKBHD, the Nothing Phone (2) is shown with its redesigned Glyph Interface. Let’s start with the overall design of the Phone (2). As expected, there’s no drastic difference between the Nothing Phone (2) and Phone (1). The edges are now slightly curved but this might just go unnoticed by a lot of people. But the Nothing Phone (2) does come in this new bluish-grey colour that will act more as the differentiating factor between the two models.
What this video confirms is that there are dual rear cameras on the Nothing Phone (2). It was previously rumoured that there would be triple rear cameras this time. The Nothing Phone (2) display also has a slight change with the punch-hole camera now sitting on the top-centre instead of the left-corner. Otherwise, the upcoming Nothing phone looks quite like the Phone (1).
Nothing Phone (2) has a redesigned Glyph Interface
Another or probably the only upgrade in terms of design is the Glyph Interface. This time too it’s still the same white LED lights but Nothing has made some changes. For starters, the LED light around the cameras is now split into two, and the centre one is split into six.
Nothing Phone (2) also comes with 33 different LED lighting zones controllable by software. The company has also added new features to make more use of the Glyph Interface. The top-right arc works in sync with the volume indicator so when you’re increasing or decreasing it, the LED light also moves accordingly. There’s a new Glyph Timer app through which you set the timer, and LED light will roll down as the countdown begins.
Nothing also plans to integrate third-party apps for this Glyph indicator, and it has so far roped in Uber and Zomato. Another customisation Nothing is offering with the Phone (2) is the option to keep the LED light static for an important app. So the LED will stay lit until the notification is opened.
