Chef Hilda Baci was trending on Twitter after her marathon cooking session that started on Thursday and ended on Monday. She aims to set a record for the longest-ever cooking session by an individual. The 27-year-old chef hails from Lagos, Nigeria has previously participated in many competitive cooking events.
This time, she prepared a mix of local and foreign dishes including jollof rice, pasta and bean flour. Baci was allowed a five-minute break every hour, which could be accumulated over the course of multiple hours. She is also allowed a single assistant. Initially, she was planning to cook for 96 hours but after being cheered on by locals, she continued to cook for four more hours. Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and several politicians also congratulated Baci on her amazing record attempt.
Take a look at the Twitter reactions:

According to reports, the current record is held by Chef Lata Tondon for 87 hours and 45 minutes. She set the record in 2019 and chef Hilda Baci attempts to challenge it now. Guinness World Records too tweeted about this amazing try at breaking the record and said that they were awaiting an official confirmation. “We’re aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record,” they wrote.
