Nawazuddin Siddiqui will revoke petition against ex-wife Aaliya if he is allowed to meet his kids: report

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has informed the Bombay High Court that he will withdraw his claim for habeas corpus if he is given the permission to see both of his children. The actor’s advocate Pradeep Thorat has thrown light on the situation. Earlier, the actor’s ex-wife Aaliya Siddiqui had released a video claiming that her mother-in-law had kicked her and both of their children out of the house and that they now have nowhere to go. Later Nawaz broke his silence and released a statement which claimed that Aaliya ‘only wants more money’. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has said that he wants to withdraw his habeas corpus petition on one condition.

In the statement that Nawazuddin posted on his Instagram account earlier this month, he wrote, “I am termed as a bad guy everywhere because of my silence. The reason I have kept quiet is because all this tamasha (show) will somewhere be read by my small children. Social Media Platforms, Press and a bunch of people are really enjoying my character assassination on the basis of one sided and manipulated videos.” Responding to this, Aaliya had written an open letter where she said that the actor an ‘irresponsible father,’ adding, “You did everything possible in your means to get me arrested and show me your power, but could not succeed.”

Now, as per a report by India Today, advocate Pradeep Thorat, who is representing the actor, has said that the actor was concerned about his children who were missing their school in Dubai. “That was the only reason that a habeas corpus was filed. I am aware of the limited relief that I can get in this petition. He has not seen his children physically. This is his limited concern. After that I will withdraw the petition.” Meanwhile, advocate Shikhar Khandelwal, who is representing Aaliya, said, “My client is willing to settle the matter. But when she is living with the children at the actor’s mother’s residence, then how is it possible that he does not know where they are? He is very much free to meet his children. He is the one who is not meeting them.”

Pradeep Thorat also added that Aaliya was facing an FIR which was registered by the actor’s family, and had also approached the Bombay High Court to terminate it. Her petition was last heard on March 14 and the next hearing is set to take place on March 27. “All concerns as of now are being communicated through lawyers on email, which is basically for demand of money. On the next date of hearing, on March 27, the parties are to meet in the chamber of the judges. We can keep this case after that,” he said.

The differences between Nawazuddin and Aaliya started in January when Aaliya claimed that she was being harassed at Nawazuddin’s home in Mumbai. The actor’s mother had filed a complaint against her over a property dispute. Aaliya and Nawazuddin share two kids–Shora and Yaani.
