ICYMI: Malaika is having the time of her life in the country’s capital city Baku. Wondering how? Malaika feasted on several local delicacies. Teasing her Instagram family with her flavourful encounter, she dropped a picture of her dining table spread. Malaika and her friends gorged on tomato scallop, with traditional style Khamiri roti. The half-eaten Khamiri roti was garnished with black sesame seeds. We could also see kebabs spread on roomali roti. They also enjoyed what looked to be ribeye. A number of dips were also seen kept on the table, next to the juice glasses.

It turns out, Malaika Arora and her friends were welcomed in Baku with its traditional brewed tea. In case you don’t know, brewed tea is basically black tea that is considered the national drink of Azerbaijan. The beverage is brewed in samovar, a small metal urn and then served in a pear-shaped glass.

Malaika Arora also treated us to a “Baku photo dump” via a carousel post on Instagram. Apart from channelling her inner wanderer and going sightseeing, Malaika really had an amazing time with the food. In the series of pictures, Malaika gave us a glimpse of a plate with yummy-looking types of cheese. It seems that Malaika made sure to make her taste buds taste almost every local dish of Azerbaijan cuisine. This is because next, she shared a video that showed a server cutting the slices of Azerbaijan’s national dish Shah Pilaf, which is a traditional rice dice prepared inside a fried dough. It is garnished with innumerable dry fruits and is served with gravy made with olives. She shared the pictures with the caption, “Day 1 Baku photo dump ….. My kinda perfect day.”
