Max Institute of Cancer Care concludes its two-day scientific meet – ET HealthWorld
New Delhi: The Max Cancer Congress 2023 held in New Delhi was attended by over 2500 senior oncology experts and clinicians, including those from the Max Institute of Cancer Care team dispersed across 13 centres and 8 cities.
Serving as a platform for the latest developments in oncological research, teaching methods, clinical excellence, and patient care, the two-day conference held several discussions and presentations with the participants sharing their knowledge, experiences, and expertise, which, as described by the hospital chain, resulted in an enriching experience for all attendees.
The hospital chain informed that the Max Cancer Congress this year had an impressive line-up, which the hospital chain calls “Max debates,” led by Dr Geeta Kadayaprath, Senior Director, Surgical Oncology (Breast Cancer) at Max Hospital, Patparganj and Vaishali, and Dr Devavrat Arya, Director, Medical Oncology at Max Hospital, Saket, that focused on the most debatable topics of clinical significance in the field of oncology.
In a statement following the Cancer Congress, Dr Harit Chaturvedi, Chairman, Max Institute of Cancer Care, said, “We were delighted to witness a significant gathering of distinguished oncology experts and healthcare professionals from all corners of the nation at the Max Cancer Congress 2023. In addition to the debates, attendees participated in sessions that discussed the role of newer medications and developments and a medicine workshop that explored molecular oncology and immunotherapy, including constructive workshops, the use of navigation systems, and robotics in surgery. In addition, radiation contouring workshops and dedicated sessions on sarcomas and haematological malignancies were also integral to the programme. The conference also offered another four sessions with a focus on access to cancer care and the newer technologies available.
Led by Dr Harit Chaturvedi, Chairman, Max Institute of Cancer Care, a few senior doctors and their teams conducted discussions on critical oncological facets. Dr Nikhil Agrawal, Director of Gastrointestinal and Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgical Oncology, Max Hospital, Saket, and his team discussed cutting-edge innovations in oncology where they engaged with startups and innovators. Dr Vivek Mangla, Director, Gastrointestinal and Hepatopancreatobiliary (GI and HPB) Surgical Oncology, Max Hospital, Patparganj, and Dr Sandeep Batra, Director of Medical Oncology at Max Hospital, Saket, and his team led discussions on GI oncology and ovarian cancer, respectively.
