BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Keiser (Fla.) and Southeastern (Fla.) finished tied atop the MSC Football Sun Division standings following the conclusion of the regular season Saturday.
Both teams went 5-1 in divisional play to claim a share of the title. Keiser is 8-2 overall while the Fire are 8-3.
Southeastern defeated Keiser 20-17 back on Oct. 16. The Fire will get one of the conference’s automatic bids into the playoffs if they are in the top 20 of the final poll that comes out on Sunday. If Southeastern is not in the top 20 then Keiser will earn one of the conference’s automatic bids based on their ranking.
The Seahawks claim their third-straight Sun Division crown while Southeastern wins its third divisional title overall and first since 2018.
Keiser closed out the regular season with a 34-27 victory on the road at Ave Maria (Fla.). The Seahawks 30.5 points per game this season and are giving up 15.1 points a game. Keiser is averaging 229.8 rushing yards per game which ranks eighth in the NAIA.
Southeastern defeated Florida Memorial 28-7 to close out the regular season. The Fire are averaging 20.6 points per game this season and 305.9 yards per game.
The final NAIA Football Coaches’ Poll and the playoff field are slated to be released on Sunday.
