Kangana Ranaut says Lock Upp has made ‘people with 6 fingers’ nervous, internet reacts: ‘Spreading cringe’

A clip of Kangana Ranaut seemingly taking a dig at actor Hrithik Roshan is being shared on social media. The clip is from the premiere episode of Lock Upp but has gained more attention over the last few days. Lock Upp is a new captivity-based reality show hosted by Kangana. In the clips, Kangana speaks about how everyone is nervous about the show and who all she will expose on it. “Jin logon ne mujse paanch saal se baat nahi ki thi, un logon ke phone aarahe hain, gifts bhej rahe hain ki bhai Kangana ko pata ke rakho. Kahin andar jaake humari pol na khol de (Those who had not spoken to me for five years are now calling me up, sending gifts. Are worried that I will expose them),” she said.

She added, “Log paanch ungliyan mila ke haath jodd rahe hain. Waise gala toh che ungliyon walo ka bhi sookh raha hai (People are putting their five fingers together for my forgiveness. Even ones with six fingers have dry throats right now).” Hrithik Roshan and Kangana were caught up in a giant legal war and controversy over a couple of years, around 2016-2017. She had said that they had dated, which he has always denied. Hrithik also has six fingers–a double thumb–on both his hands.

People on the internet were amused by Kangana’s quote and refusal to let bygones be bygones. “She thought she did something very clever there,” wrote one. “’The most toxic Ex’ ka award jaata hai Padmashree Kangna RunOut (She gets the award for most toxic ex).” Another took inspiration from Usual Suspects’ final line: “The greatest trick Kangana ever pulled was to make the public believe Hritik was after her.” A fan got inspired by Hrithik’s film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. “Reality show mein mera reference lena was not funny.”

Last year in February, Hrithik visited the crime branch in Mumbai to record his statement in the case. Hrithik’s complaint in 2016 alleged that someone was impersonating him and was emailing Kangana from a bogus email ID in his name. The complaint was followed by a spat between the two. Hrithik had accused Kangana of harassing him by sending him hundreds of emails. Following an initial probe, police recorded Kangana’s statement after concluding that the emails were sent from her id. However, Kangana denied sending emails to Hrithik.

Lock Upp airs everyday on Alt Balaji and MXPlayer. Its contestants include Munawar Faruqui, Poonam Pandey, Saisha Shinde, Payal Rohatgi and others.
