NEW DELHI: England cricket team‘s ‘Bazball’ approach in Test cricket earned a lot of plaudits as it produced good results for them before Ashes.

The term was coined after former New Zealand wicket keeper Brendon McCullum took over as the head coach of the England Test team. Bazball denotes an aggressive and fearless brand of cricket.
Now, Pakistan seemed to have taken a cue from England and followed the same approach against Sri Lanka in the current Test series.

Pakistan’s aggressive style of play impressed the former pacer Shoaib Akhtar who coined the term ‘PakBall’ after his team’s dominating performance against Sri Lanka.

“Is #PakBall becoming a bit of a thing?,” Akhtar tweeted on Monday.
After bundling out Sri Lanka for 166, Pakistan took control on the first day of the second Test and as they scored 145-2 in just 28.3 overs in Colombo.
Abdullah Shafique displayed his batting prowess with an impressive knock of 74 runs, while the skipper Babar Azam, not out at eight, accompanied him at the crease when play was halted due to bad light.
Shafique and the left-handed Shan Masood (51) formed a formidable partnership of 108 runs for the second wicket, showcasing their attacking approach and putting Sri Lanka on the defensive.
The visitors registered a four-wicket victory in the first Test in Galle.
