instagram: Instagram may soon roll out these new editing features for your profile – Times of India
Instagram is reportedly testing a new feature that will allow users to rearrange the size of the post seen on their profile. According to a post by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, the Facebook owned platform is testing a new crop feature that can be found under the post options tab. The feature will allow users to crop how the post appears on their profile, regardless of time they were posted. Reports suggest that the feature may align with the under-development feature that will allow users to re-arrange the profile grid.
Apart from this, researcher Salman Memon claims that the company is also working to display posts in 4:5 ratio in profile. As per a previous tweet by Memon, few Instagram users are seeing a new ‘Pin to your profile’ option when they press on the ‘three-dot’ icon above the post. As per the screenshot shared by the researcher, the new option will help users to make a few of their posts appear at the top of their profile.
The feature appears quite similar to the pin post feature offered by Twitter and Facebook. Instagram has not officially revealed anything about the feature till now. It is also not known how many posts users will be allowed to pin. Details about a similar feature that will allow users to rearrange the posts on their profile were shared by app Paluzzi in January.
Last year, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said that the company is trying to give more control to the users in 2022. It looks like the feature is one of the ways the platform is providing control to users. Currently users can only delete or archive a post in their profile.
