IndiGo Q3 Results: Firm posts profit of Rs 130 crore; revenue surges 89% YoY
Revenue from operations came in at Rs 9,294.80 crore for the quarter, an increase of 89.3 per cent over the same period last year. The airline said there was a 50.3 per cent increase in capacity in the December quarter compared to the same period last year.
CEO Ronojoy Dutta said, “I am pleased that we were able to report a profit for the third quarter. It demonstrates that our business model is fundamentally strong. Our employees have remained a pillar of strength throughout this health crisis and have steadfastly provided superior service.”
For the quarter, passenger ticket revenues came in at Rs 8,073.10 crore, up 98.4 per cent YoY. Ancillary revenues stood at Rs 1,141.70 crore, up 41.3 per cent YoY.
The airline said it had a fleet of 283 aircraft as of December 31, a net increase of 4 aircraft sequentially.
IndiGo operated a peak of 1,574 daily flights during the quarter including non-scheduled flights, the company said.
During the quarter, the airline operator also provided scheduled services to 71 domestic destinations and various international locations through passenger charters and air bubble flights.
“Fourth quarter capacity in terms of ASKs ( Available Seat Kilometres) is expected to reduce by around 10-15 per cent as compared to the third quarter,” the company said in a BSE filing.
