How to set your working location in Google Calendar – Times of India

0
Introduction
Google Calendar allows users to set their working hours. Apart from just setting their working hours, they can also set and notify co-workers whether they are working from home, an office, a client site, or a coffee shop.
Working location in Google Calendar
If your account is linked to your place of employment or educational institution, you may use working hours and availability. If you don’t see it, your admin might have disabled the working hours or location option for your company. Go to a specific day on your calendar, then click the location bar to see whether you can change your working location or not.
Users can then share their calendar to notify other team members about where to find you. This way others can have an idea and they can schedule in-office time with you. In that case, a meeting request will be displayed in a yellow banner at the top of the users’ calendar. You can also modify the default working location for a calendar if you have “Make changes and manage sharing” access.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you set up your working location in Google Calendar:
Setting working location on desktop

  1. Open Google Calendar on your computer.
  2. Click on the Settings icon available at top right.
  3. Then, go to the Settings tab.
  4. Under the General tab, click on the Working hours & location option available on the left.
  5. Choose the days that you work. If your calendar shows working hours, they have already been chosen.
  6. Enter your workplace location next to each day.

Setting working location on mobile device

  1. Open the Google Calendar app on your Android or iOS device.
  2. Tap on the Create option.
  3. Then, tap on the Working Location option.
  4. You can tap on each date to adjust the date range.
  5. Select a working location: Home or Office.
  6. Enter the new location in the top bar to add it.
  7. Hit the Save button.

Conclusion
Companies now have a more effective system for scheduling in-person meetings in a hybrid home and office setting thanks to working locations. The working locations and hours will be in the same section of Google Calendar.
