To begin with the recipe, heat oil in a pan and fry the onion slices. Once the onion turns golden and crisp, take them out and keep aside.
Now, take a grinder, add almonds and fried onion. Grind them together into a fine paste. PS: add only a half portion of fried onion. In the same pan in which you fried the onions, add black peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, star anise, bay leaves, green cardamom, black cardamom, and let the spices splutter.
Next up, add mutton pieces and wait until colour changes. Once done, add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt to taste and mix again. Add onion and almond mixture and let it cook for a few minutes.
