How to Get Fresh Tomatoes for Rs.70 per kg via Paytm/ONDC – Smartprix

0

The price of Tomatoes has seen a skyrocketing surge recently, the reasons being delayed monsoons, heavy rains, reduced supply, transportation problems, and more. Tomato, which is a basic vegetable used in almost all Indian households, rich and poor alike, has seen a spike of up to Rs. 150 per kg in some regions of Delhi-NCR. In some stores, the price has skyrocketed to an alarming Rs. 200-250/ kg as well. This has led to problems for lower- and middle-income households as buying tomatoes would mean disbalancing their monthly budgets.

To cope with this problem, Paytm and ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) have come up with a solution that will give some relief to consumers.

On Tuesday, Paytm and ONDC announced that they will sell tomatoes at Rs. 70 per kilogram through the National Cooperative Consumers Federation of India (NCCF) for people in Delhi and NCR via the Paytm app.

Using this scheme, consumers can get up to 2kgs of tomatoes for Rs. 140 every week, that too with free delivery. The good news is that Paytm has also hinted that the prices for tomatoes might drop further as per directions from NCCF.

The move will benefit 1000s of buyers in Delhi and NCR region, giving them a respite from alarming prices that have gone past Rs. 200 per kilogram.

How to Order Tomatoes on Paytm ONDC

Ordering tomatoes from Paytm ONDC is a very simple process. Just follow the given steps-

  • Open the Paytm Application.

  • Choose the quantity of tomatoes you want to order.
  • Enter your delivery address.
  • Select your Payment Mode and pay for your order.

Note- The service has begun yesterday, so there are still a few regions in Delhi and NCR that are not eligible for this scheme. Keep checking the app to know if your area has become available or not.

Also please keep in mind that a single buyer can get only 2 Kgs of tomatoes at Rs. 140 per week with free delivery.

Talking about the offer, Paytm E-Commerce Private Limited Spokesperson said, “The rising prices of a kitchen essential like tomato has been affecting many across the country. With this collaboration between NCCF and ONDC, our users in Delhi NCR can now easily get tomatoes at affordable prices.”
