Google’s app navigation isn’t optimal within Google Drive and other apps. Hence, let’s see a new feature that Google has decided to introduce. With a new feature coming up everyday, Google tries to help users as much as possible.
Google now announced that they are introducing a new search bar to the Workspace applications- Docs, Sheets and Slides. This will make things easier for users to find the tools and features they require while using these applications.
This tool finder will be located at the top of the application page and if you aren’t able to track any tool down just type it out and voila! You’ll get your hands on that tool. Presently, “Search the menus” is there on Docs, Slides and Sheets which comes under the Help option in the drop down menu. But it is restricted to certain searches only.
So, if a new document is created and then you click on the search tool, it will suggest some common actions like drop-down, meeting notes, page setup etc. for Docs. Once the editing if the document begins, recent action ms can be retrieved by clicking on the tool finder.
Currently, Google is providing this feature to Google Workspace, G Suite Basic and Business users and personal Google account holders. But, it will take a few days to get implemented completely.
Also, the fact that Google is trying to implement as much as AI tools might also be a turning factor. AI can introduce a new arena in terms of Google search. There are necessary reasons why Google is taking this step, as it wants to remain the tycoon that it is as a search engine and not let anyone run them over, as well as capitalise on their productivity applications market.
