Back in June, Google announced that it is shutting down the integration between third-party Assistant voice apps and Nest Hub games and that’s set to happen on June 20. Meanwhile, the tech giant has decided to axe another service for Google Assistant and this time it is third-party Assistant Notes and Lists integration, reports 9to5Google.
What is third-party Assistant Notes and Lists integration
If you’ve used Google Assistant on smart speakers, smart displays or even on your smartphone, then you must be aware that Google allowed third-party notes service app integration for voice commands that lets users create, and edit lists and notes on smart speakers and displays using voice commands. The available options were Google Keep, Any.do, AnyList, and Bring Shopping Lists.

As per the report, that integration will no longer be available for users. AnyList’s developer announced that “Google is shutting down the Google Assistant Notes & Lists integration for non-Google apps on June 20, 2023.” That means users won’t have the option to create lists or take notes to AnyList via Google Assistant-enabled devices.
That being said, users of Google Assistant speakers or displays will no longer have access to third-party apps and services to take notes using voice commands. 9to5Google has also reported that Google has confirmed to them that this change won’t affect Google Keep integration with the Assistant. That means users will still be able to take notes using their voice on Keep.
Meanwhile, Google is working on a different aspect of this entire third-party integration by making developers add voice command support natively to their existing apps. This will apply to the entire Android ecosystem including smartphones, tablets, WearOS devices, Google/Android TVs, Android Auto and other devices.
