God Of War Ragnarok leaks ahead of launch: Here’s what Santa Monica Studio has to say – Times of India
First it was Cory Barlog, who directed the first title of the Norse series, who voiced his concerns of the early leak of the game. A few hours later, Santa Monica Studio released a statement after leaks of God Of War Ragnarok surfaced on the Internet.
Barlog’s tweet suggests that a few retailers sold the copies of the game to players almost two weeks ahead of the game’s intended release. He said he was “frustrated” and “sorry” that everyone will now “have to dodge the spoilers” if they “want to play the game fresh”.
sorry to everyone that you have to dodge the spoilers if you want to play the game fresh. completely fucking stupid… https://t.co/sFoicSOjeD

“…a retailer selling the game nearly TWO WEEKS before release….just so disappointing…this is not at all how any of us at SMS wanted things to go,” Barlog said.
Hours after Barlog’s tweet, the developers at Santa Monica Studio issued a statement requesting the fans to stay away from the spoilers as the studio does its work “to limit the exposure of unsanctioned footage and screenshots.” The team has also asked those who have got early access to the game to refrain from posting any details about the game, which can ruin the experience for others.

“We ask that you please be considerate of the many fans who do not want to accidentally see clips, gameplay, or narrative spoilers and avoid sharing them wider. For those of you who do not want to risk seeing anything before launch, we strongly advise that you mute any keywords or hashtags associated with the game until release day,” the studio said in a statement.
